Cancellation and Refund Policy

  1. Scope

This policy applies to all freight forwarding, logistics, customs clearance, warehousing, and relocation services provided by Egress International Freight.

  1. Cancellation by Client

2.1 Freight Forwarding Services

When You Cancel

What Happens

Before cargo is collected / received by Egress

Full refund of any prepayment, minus any non-recoverable third-party costs already incurred (e.g., carrier booking fees)

After cargo collection but before departure

Refund minus: (a) all third-party costs incurred; (b) handling/processing fees; (c) return transport costs if applicable

After cargo has departed

No refund. Client remains responsible for full quoted price plus any additional costs for rerouting, storage, or return

 

2.2 Customs Clearance Services

Once customs documentation has been submitted to the Egyptian Customs Authority (NAFEZA), the customs clearance fee is non-refundable as the service has been performed.[12]

2.3 Moving and Relocation Services

Cancellation terms for moving and relocation are specified in the individual relocation agreement. As a general guideline:

  • More than 14 days before scheduled move: 10% cancellation fee or minimum administration charge
  • 7–14 days before scheduled move: 25% of total quoted price
  • Less than 7 days before scheduled move: 50% of total quoted price
  • On moving day or after packing has commenced: 100% of quoted price

2.4 Warehousing Services

Warehousing may be terminated by either party with thirty (30) calendar days’ written notice. All outstanding storage fees, handling charges, and retrieval costs must be settled before cargo is released.

  1. Cancellation by Egress

Egress may cancel or suspend Services in the following circumstances:

  • Client fails to provide required documentation within the agreed timeframe
  • Cargo is misdescribed, prohibited, or restricted under applicable law
  • Client fails to make required payments
  • Force majeure events prevent service performance
  • Continuation of the Service would expose Egress to legal, safety, or reputational risk

In the event of cancellation by Egress for reasons not attributable to the Client, any prepayment will be refunded in full.

  1. Refund Processing
  • Approved refunds are processed within thirty (30) business days
  • Refunds are issued to the original method of payment
  • Bank transfer fees associated with the refund are borne by the Client
  • Currency exchange rate fluctuations between the time of payment and refund are the Client’s risk
  1. Claims for Loss or Damage

Claims for cargo loss, damage, or delay are not covered by this refund policy. Such claims are governed by Section 7 (Limitation of Liability) of the Terms of Service and the applicable international transport convention.

  1. Dispute Resolution

If a cancellation or refund dispute cannot be resolved amicably, it shall be subject to the dispute resolution provisions in the Terms of Service.
